Me: I feel like logic-->logical; logic and sense are synonyms [is that right?] so then sense-->sensical. Engineers should rewrite English pre/suffixes lol

I’ve got finals March 15-17, going to Canada for the Coyotes @ Canucks game March 18th. IDK when I’m coming back [that week is my spring break], but probably Wednesday or Thursday I’ll go back to my apt so I can go in for lots of work, then Saturday is GAD!!!!!! This *almost* makes up for the Circa/Anberlin tour not coming.

Regarding Hillarys epic Chem GoPost argument

Legendary Chem Discussion Board 2010
Boydy: Professor Freeman (Bio 180) has a pic of his entire class taking an exam wearing UW purple (hoodies, T-shirts, whatever so long as it's UW purple). I am jealous and want such a picture. What will it take?
Rachel: Extra credit AND cookies, and we'll make it happen for sure.
Me: Extra credit for all seems pointless as if EVERYONE gets extra credit it does nothing because of the curve. Let us think of something so much better!!! Note card on quizzes [it would be nice to have the backup of not having to completely memorize all the functional groups...]?
Rachel: I'd go for the notecard on quizzes. And FINE Jacqueline, how about extra credit opportunities? And cookies.
Me: OR TWO NOTECARDS ON THE FINAL!!
Hillary: CAKE. FUNFETTI CAKE!!!! :-D Oh, and extra credit/ dos notecards both sound most excellent as well.
Random Person 1: Is this the same Freeman that wrote the Biological Sciences textbook? Extra credit "opportunities" for everyone is kind of pointless. I don't really know what to suggest other than "just do it" for the luls on next midterm or final because affecting the course outcome doesn't seem right. Maybe the TAs or professor could just share a funny chem lab anecdote or something.
Random Person 2: I second 'for the luls' notion. Would you consider cancelling the quiz on the 18th? That's when they have the televised game which will make traffic the final boss.
Boydy: Some answers: 1) I don't know if Prof. Freeman has the photo posted anywhere. I saw it during his presentation for faculty orientation. 2) Extra credit: mostly valid argument that everyone does the extra credit so it's sort of pointless. Also requires changing the grading structure in the syllabus mid-way through the quarter. 3) Food...would certainly consider it. Keep voicing your opinions :) 4) Note card on quizzes - no. 5) Two note cards on final - possibly. 6) For the luls - I honestly had to Google this b/c I am apparently old. But, yes, of course! 7) Funny anecdote...sure, but don't really know any. What if I could get one/some of the TAs to dye their hair purple to match your spirit? Note that exam #2 occurs the week before the Thursday home game. Would be good timing... Thanks for your input. I really want this to happen!

Boydy: Here are the most entertaining to me thus far: Pie in face: been there done that. When I was a kid I wanted to know what it felt like to get a pie in the face. So I requested this for one of my birthdays in grade school. On my birthday, my family hit me in the face with whip cream pies. I don't know why I was curious about this. I didn't eat glue or pencils, but a pie in the face was intrigued me. So, no to the pie. Purple hair: again, been there done that. Many different colors over the years (including purple at some point). My concern is that if I show up with permanent purple hair, my Department might decide that Prof. Boydston should go back to being Mr. Boydston. Two note cards on the final: Really!? Why would you want to agonize over what to include on TWO note cards. Isn't ONE note card enough torture? OK. Deal. If at least 95% of the class (380 students) are in UW purple on midterm 2, then I will allow 2 note cards on the final exam. Start spreading the word... [Sidenote: So we didn't accomplish this but he told us if we could get all 4 of our TA's to dye their hair purple we'd get the 2nd notecard [which we accomplished]]
Rachel: Hmm, well hypothetically, if two people supplied the TA's with ALL THAT HAIR DYE, I'd say they deserve extra credit, eh?
Me: That sounds extremely reasonable as this show of spirit and double notecard on the final wouldn't have been possible without them!
Boydy: I totally agree! It would have been so rewarding to have discussed this beforehand, I'm sure. Oh well, now I'll know for next year! I heard rumors of cheesecake and other bribery as well.
Rachel: I'd say cheesecake people probably deserve EC as well. And it is not a very good judge of character if people only supply hair-dye/other bribes because they KNOW they are getting EC, it's a better assessment when people do these things out of the goodness of their hearts and are then rewarded!
Boydy: If truly out of the goodness of their hearts, the reward is inherent in the act ;)
Hillary: I believe Rachel and Jacqueline both deserve extra credit. Thanks to them I am a much happier person. Before I found out we got two notecards, I was living my life with constant worry. It almost felt like everyday I woke up to a world without sun, full of meadows of wilting black roses drowning in the tears of my sorrow. Now, I feel much happier everyday like I am waking up to a world full of unicorns, glitter, sunshine, rainbows, chipmunks and other cuddly fluffy forest critters. If saving me from my life from dwindling into a dark black abyss is not worthy of some extra credit, I am not sure what is.
Boydy: I am aware. Your dismay manifested in your violence toward others. Such as the urge to pie people in the face...
Me: But isn't it also a great thing to reward those who go above and beyond? Wouldn't you like to feel this nice, warm, fuzzy feeling in your own heart by doing this kind deed?
Rachel: So basically Jacqueline and I saved you from being pied in the face.

2 Tom sightings in 4 days!
Tom is by far my favorite TA I’ve had while at the UW. He’s like a bro but the good awesome kind, also he’s smart which is weird but helpful. Considering I only get 8 elective credits and if I take the rest of OChem I will be using all of those for a non fun/easy subject I vote the universe rewards me and has Tom TA me at least once more.
Also Boydy is easily my favorite Chem...

Me: The easiset day I had this week was 11 hours on campus so yeah I'd say I'm at the point of delusional. Even I have a breaking point.
Rachel: Sleep all day tomorrow! Until 6 because we are doing chem then, but that's still a quality amount of sleep
Me: Wait by 6 you mean 5 right? Also I've got like nothing done for chem and I've got Bio at 1 and I still need to add to my bio outline etc etc. I'll probs let myself sleep til like 10 though and do an hour of bio then an hour of chem and eat then study groups! Got all day Sunday to cram, need some breathe time I think.
Rachel: Oh crap I told Sho the wrong time, I'll fix that haha. And you have an odd definition of "breathe time"
Me: Well sleeping is always breathing now that my apnea is supposedly betterish. And I'm not doing that much hardcore prep tomorrow, just group stuff probably

Me: Well before sleeping was not breathing which is why I wasn't sleeping because my body woke me up lots so I could be breathing. The surgery was supposed to fix that but I never had a post surgical sleep test done so I'm not really sure how well it worked. So I think that statement was correct?
Rachel: I'm sure it is correct
Me: Oh then you were pointing out the ridiculousness in which case I wholeheartedly agree! But its so crazy to me to think that once sleeping wasn't resting because I wasnt breathing, so now I dont take sleeping for granted and ample sleep is amazing breathing time for me
