I have the coolest/nicest canadian surgeon man who took pics of me on his iphone during surgery and proceeded to email them to me. What a boss.

For orientation looking at the picture: to the left would be like my arm to my hand, and my shoulder would be at the top right. And this is on the like backside of my right elbow.

So the top is my fascia layer which obviously they cut through but he said it was also kinda tight. And then the bottom, on the right half of the picture you can see my tricep that he cut in half so it is no longer over that part of my ulnar nerve.

Basically my tricep is just WAYYY too big. Because I’m SOOO strong and stuff you know. lol.

Here’s the definition of mal de coucou:
n. a phenomenon in which you have an active social life but very few close friends—people who you can trust, who you can be yourself with, who can help flush out the weird psychological toxins that tend to accumulate over time—which is a form of acute social malnutrition in which even if you devour an entire buffet of chitchat, you’ll still feel pangs of hunger.

Imagine your brain is a bird’s nest. Normally, you feed your attention to real substantive relationships that can then grow and sustain themselves. In mal de coucou, that precious attention is instead swallowed up by acquaintances you don’t really relate to, like cuckoo birds. These might look like real friendships but will either fly out of the nest or leave you feeling socially malnourished. Even if you’re constantly hanging out with people.

This particular sorrow is my little riff on the French term mal de caribou, which is a kind of starvation that occurs even when you’re eating plentiful quantities of lean meat, notably rabbit and caribou. You need to do more than just chew the fat, so to speak. As an accidental bonus, coucou is also a French colloquialism for ‘hey there!’

On May 5th myself, Brian Chou (BChou!), Alex, Rahul, Brimble, Tamara (pictured), and Michelle went to Alki beach and just hung out. Its nice to just hang out with the gang. Also I am so white. Took a decent amount of pictures, but tumblr dumb only lets you post 1 via URL and Im lazy. See my facebook for others. But found out Rahul is like pretty good at throwing a football and BChou sugar daddy’d us some Starbucks blended strawberry lemonade and I drank a pineapple mimosa and the view of the skyline from Alki is like backwards… I’m just so used to seeing it the one way, seeing it the other was like being in a mirror. Very cool though. It’d be neat to go at night and bonfire, but sadly I doubt that will happen. Anyway, good hangs. I like when my friends are legit.
