Asleep
In 2010 we were on Warped Tour traveling through Texas when we were almost killed in a 10+ car pile up. A tropical storm had just made it’s way inland and the rain had made the highway very slick. I am not sure how it started, but I was woken by Dustin dogging cars left and right and trying to get our trailer back behind the van. Outside the window I could see a couple cars flipped with injured passengers trying to exit. Our videographer was yelling to stop so we could help them, until a jack knifing semi truck started to barrel towards us…at that point I yelled “fuck that, keep going”. Dustin hit the gas, evaded the semi, and somehow saved us. Asleep at the Wheel is an account of that morning’s happenings.This City Is Yours
A lot of the lyrics I wrote for “Cantos: i & ii” focused on a lot negative happenings in my life. When I hit a block for this song, I tried to think of all the bad things going on at the time for a starting point. The act of doing this made me feel sick that I was resorting to a method of writing so centered around self loathing. The song became an ode to the loathing of self loathing. Stay positive.Little War
I wrote this song almost 3 years ago back when my best friend and my girlfriend at the time both had a strong disliking for each other. It’s a spot that I am sure many people have been in and not a pleasant one at that. The version of this song was the 2nd we recorded of it. We had a good time bringing it up to date to fit with the rest of the material.10,000 leagues
The downside to traveling as much as I do to pursue my passion is leaving the ones I care about at home. 10,000 leagues is my best attempt at reminding someone that even though I may leave from time to time they are always on my mind.

Anyway! I earlier stated how FREAKING EXCITED I am for this because I’ve been favorite band-less for so so so long and this LP will cure that and I can’t even contain myself. The wonderful crazy ideas that seep out of these men is amazing and I can’t wait to see em on tour again and buy the LP and this is going to be AMAZING.
