And yeah M: in an interview a while ago [or maybe twitter?] Bemis said he had written one of his favorite songs of all time and that it’s got that very Admit It escense. He went on to say it for sure was NOT Admit It, but definitely up there. So should be ridiculously good.

Analog audio is actually more detailed by its nature.

However, there’s not a high quality medium for it that lasts without play-incurred damages (other than prohibitively expensive and large reel tapes).

Analog video is pretty much dead in the water. You can store much higher quality and detail in a much smaller space digitally.

That said, I endorse the use of well-cared for vinyl for people, like me, that are into that kind of shit on its technological (rather than trend-based) merits. There’s also the fact that secondhand vinyl can be had extremely cheaply and opens people up to much broader ranges of music thanks to the fact you actually get to look through stuff and pick it up for cheap because it looks or sounds like it might be neat. Really the hipster antithesis if anything.
